Forget Modern Warfare 2; here's the next game I can't wait to play.

Multi player demo comes out on the PC in December. |

How odd... aside from the graphics doesn't this seem alot more like a direct sequel to Bf2 but with bad company graphics?....
would be nice if they had just released this first instead of the first bad company...
anyhow. Since IW are now stooges, EA wins.

Yeah that's kind of what I thought. Even stranger is that they ARE working on BF3. How that's going to be different from BFBC2 I have no idea.
Those min specs are pretty healthy, which would be expected with a brand new engine. I barely have the minimum CPU specs covered, although I have everything else from the recommended specs. |

| Most of the minimum specs are cheap components nowadays. the recommended on the other hand, surpass what I have... I'm sick of buying new motherboards.... mine is supposed to be forward compatible.... but still wouldn't run a quad cpu or a newfangled vid card properly based on its.... 'old' architecture. Seriously, is it too much to ask that a motherboard not be invalid after 9 months? especialy when it clocked in at about 200$? >.< |

Played the Bad Company Beta for the first time today. It's pretty sweet. The destructible structures adds to the atomsphere quite a bit.
I'll warn you though: I tried to play it with an Athlon 64 3800+ dual core, which is somewhat equivalent to their min specs, and I couldn't play at all.
I upgraded to an Athlon II X4 630 (quad core) with 4GB of RAM and I was able to play on full resolution with medium video settings. High was semi-playable, but laggy. Not bad for a $200 upgrade (I had upgraded my vid card about a year ago already). |

| All you hosers (and non-hosers alike) need to upgrade your computers and get this game so we can dominate some fools. |

hmm...think my system will run it ok?
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+
2GB DDR400 PC3200 RAM
2x GeForce 7900GTO 512mb vid cards (SLI)
I suppose I can always up the ram to 4GB...just seems like a shame to buy DDR400. Not sure when I'll be able to upgrade the whole system though so it might be worth it. Anyone have 2x1GB sicks lying around that they want to sell me? |

| Does anyone know if the second 2 sticks of RAM have to be identical to the first set in order for both sets to work in dual channel? |

In general, yes. I have heard of using different sticks of RAM ( and one occasion done myself), but you are asking for trouble in doing that. The one time I did it I had to cannibalize 3 different systems to find 2 sticks that worked together. The timing and the latency usually need to line up just right for them to work right. If you know the timing and latency on your first stick and can find one with the same parameters then I would say it has a fairly high chance of working. If not, I wouldn't even try. |
